Thee year-old Thai boy believed reincarnation of Buddhist Lama

A three year-old boy in Thailand named Nong Mark is gaining wider recognition for leading Buddhist congregations, and reciting lengthy Buddhist chants.

Mark has had his head shaved and wears a yellow robe, although he is too young to be officially ordained as a monk. Nevertheless, the local Buddhists believe that his extraordinary ability, and inclination toward religion, indicate that he is a reincarnation of a highly advanced Lama.

He regularly gives blessing in Pali, and chants the Itipiso, Bahum and Mahakaruniko mantras. According to his grandmother, Mark began chanting at only eighteen months, and was sprinkling holy water before he was waling. He is now able to chant the regular blessings and mantras, which take over an hour.

Unlike virtually any other child of his age, Mark is also able to sit cross legged in quiet meditation.
